SUFFOLK OFFENDER DOUGLAS MILNES RECEIVES SUSPENDED SENTENCE IN BOTESDALE

In February 2019, a man from Suffolk, Douglas Milnes, was sentenced after being found in possession of indecent images of children. Police officers visited his home on January 17 of the previous year and arrested him on suspicion of possessing such images. During the search, they confiscated six electronic devices, which upon analysis were found to contain a total of seven images classified as level A (the most serious), 49 images at level B, and 253 images at the lowest level C. Additionally, two level C movies were recovered.
Milnes, aged 61 and residing on Chapel Lane in Botesdale near Diss, admitted to three charges of making indecent images of children between 2011 and 2017, as well as possessing a prohibited image of a child.
He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, but the sentence was suspended for two years. He was also ordered to complete 35 days of rehabilitation activities. Furthermore, Milnes was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order lasting ten years and was required to register as a sex offender for the same duration.
