LICHFIELD TEACHER DOUGLAS FORBES SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES WITH 15-YEAR-OLD PUPIL NEAR TAMWORTH
In a case that has shocked the community of Lichfield and the surrounding areas, Douglas Forbes, a 34-year-old teacher from Wissage Road, was sentenced to more than two years in prison after being found guilty of engaging in sexual activities with a 15-year-old pupil.
The incident took place near Tamworth, where Forbes had arranged to meet the young girl in a motel, leading to a series of events that culminated in his conviction.
According to court proceedings, Forbes, who was employed as a supply teacher at a local school in Tamworth, initiated contact with the girl after they had exchanged mobile numbers.
The court heard that prior to the offences, Forbes took the girl to a fast-food restaurant, during which he obtained her phone number.
