Clifton Sexual Abuser
In November 2017, a disturbing case unfolded involving Donald Beeson, a 53-year-old man from Colley Moor Leys Lane in Clifton, who was found guilty of heinous crimes against two young girls. The court proceedings took place at Nottingham Crown Court, where Beeson faced justice for his actions.

Following a trial, Judge Sarah Buckingham delivered her verdict on Tuesday, November 22, sentencing Beeson to a total of 78 months in prison, which equates to over six years behind bars. The judge emphasized the severity of the crimes, describing them as "repeated offending against vulnerable children." In addition to his prison sentence, Beeson was ordered to be subject to a sexual harm prevention order and to register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.

The court heard that Beeson was convicted on three counts of indecent assault and one count of indecency with a child. Prosecutor Gregor Purcell detailed the profound impact of Beeson's actions on the victims, highlighting issues such as social anxiety, a lack of trust in others, and difficulties in forming friendships. These emotional scars stemmed from Beeson's inappropriate behavior when the victims were still very young.

One of the victims recounted an incident where Beeson attempted to coerce her into touching him, an act she firmly refused by saying "no." The court also found Beeson guilty of indecency with a second girl, involving an attempt to get her to touch him as well. These acts of misconduct have left lasting trauma on the victims, and the court's decision reflects the gravity of Beeson's offenses and the need for justice to be served in such cases.
