MAN JAILED FOR SERIES OF SEXUAL OFFENCES
A sex offender who was apprehended by police after returning to the site of one of his crimes has been sentenced to prison.Domenico Anselmo, aged 27, received a four-year prison term following his involvement in multiple sexual offenses in west Essex and parts of Hertfordshire.
He confessed to committing 17 separate crimes, all taking place between January 2017 and May 2021 along the pathways near the River Lea.
His actions included assaults and acts of indecent exposure directed at thirteen women.
In May, authorities asked the women affected by Anselmo’s offenses to assist police by visiting each crime scene, which also involved installing additional security cameras in those locations.
One victim had been walking home on Dobbs Weir Road in July 2020 when she was attacked.
Anselmo was found at the crime scene shortly after she had shown officers where the incident occurred.
He is from Meadgate Road, Nazeing, and was arrested on suspicion of 18 offenses.
Crime scene footage that day matched his clothing to that worn in another of his recorded crimes.
On August 6, he admitted guilt to 17 of the 18 charges in Chelmsford Crown Court.
During today’s court session, he was sentenced to four years and also received an extended period of licence supervision.
