BOXER POINTED REALISTIC-LOOKING GLOCK HANDGUN AT EX-PARTNER AND DAUGHTER
A man named Denzil Geraint Goodridge damaged the front window of his former partner's residence and then aimed a realistic-looking Glock pistol at her and her daughter inside.
The event took place in Caerau near Maesteg on the morning of May 22, 2022.
Court reports indicate that shortly after breaking the window, Goodridge drove up in a black Ford Fiesta and pointed a firearm through the shattered glass, prompting the occupants to escape in fear.
The police have not recovered the firearm, which is believed to have been a replica, as the prosecution was unable to confirm its authenticity.
The victim’s testimony detailed her terror of seeing Goodridge aim the gun at her and her daughter, feeling immobilized and believing she was about to die, which has prevented her from seeking counseling due to her trauma.
Goodridge, a resident of Abercregan, Cymmer, Afan Valley, admitted guilt to charges of criminal damage and possessing an imitation firearm with the intent to threaten violence.
He has a criminal record with four previous convictions covering seven offenses.
He was sentenced to 32 months in prison for the firearm-related charge and one month for criminal damage, to run simultaneously, with the option to serve up to half of the sentence before being released on license.
