DENIS JOHNSTONE SENTENCED IN FALKIRK FOR DECADE OF ABUSE AGAINST THREE WOMEN

A man named Denis Johnstone, who inflicted prolonged periods of abuse on multiple women over a span of more than ten years, has been handed a significant prison sentence of 13 years. The conviction pertains to a series of sexual and violent offences committed against three women within the Falkirk area, with incidents dating from 2011 through to 2023.

These disturbing crimes came to light during a trial held at the High Court in Edinburgh. On Wednesday, April 16, the court officially sentenced Johnstone following a guilty verdict that was reached earlier in the same court on February 26. The court proceedings revealed that Johnstone’s actions were both sexually abusive and physically violent, causing immense trauma to his victims.

Throughout the trial, police officials commended the bravery of the women who came forward to speak about their experiences. Detective Sergeant Graeme Heeps, a representative of the Forth Valley Public Protection Unit, described Johnstone as a violent and abusive individual who demonstrated a complete lack of regard for the suffering he caused.
