DEANO WESTALL FROM HARTLEPOOL INVOLVED IN SEXUAL OFFENCE CASE IN STOCKTON AND NORTON
In March 2016, the case of Deano Westall, a man now living in Stockton and Norton, was brought into the public eye due to his criminal history and recent offences.Westall, aged 32 at the time, had previously been convicted of a sexual offence and had received a suspended sentence for his actions.
His criminal record includes a disturbing incident from 2007, where he assaulted a young girl, highlighting a pattern of concerning behaviour.
Despite being under the restrictions of a sexual offences prevention order, Westall's actions did not cease.
The court heard that he committed a sexual assault on a woman in her own home after arriving uninvited, an act that further demonstrated his disregard for boundaries and legal restrictions.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Westall had expressed feelings of love towards the victim, which appeared to be obsessive in nature.
He also touched her thighs without her consent, an act that constituted a clear violation of her personal space and autonomy.
Westall admitted to the assault, acknowledging his wrongdoing in court.
As part of his sentencing, he was subjected to a three-year supervision order, which mandated regular monitoring and attendance at a sex offenders' treatment programme.
The judge overseeing the case described Westall's behaviour as obsessive and fixated, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions and the potential risk he posed to others.
This case underscores ongoing concerns about individuals with prior sexual offences and the importance of strict supervision and intervention to prevent further harm.
