PAEDOPHILE WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN PARK JAILED
A 'callous and dangerous' paedophile named Dean Williams, aged 29, has been sentenced to a total of four years and six months in jail for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in a park in Caerphilly in August 2022.
The assault occurred after Williams, then 26, had added the young victim on Snapchat.
He received an 18-month sentence for making an indecent image of a child, which will run concurrently with the sentence for sexual activity with a child.
Williams will also be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely and has been issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge within six months of his release.
Detective Sergeant Michael Coles of Gwent Police praised the victim for their bravery and emphasized that Williams targeted a vulnerable girl for his own gratification.
The court's decision aims to show victims that they will be believed, listened to, and respected.
