DEAN HEARSON CONVICTED OF HISTORIC SEX OFFENCES IN STAFFORDSHIRE
A man from Staffordshire with a disturbing history of sexual offenses has been formally convicted of multiple historic crimes.Dean Hearson, a resident of Brown Edge, a village within Staffordshire, faced a court trial that revealed a troubling pattern of abuse spanning several decades.
Hearson was charged with a total of 19 counts, including 15 counts of indecent assault on a male and four counts of indecency with a child.
These allegations, which had remained unreported for years, came to light when Staffordshire Police received a report in 2018.
The investigation uncovered that the offenses dated back to the 1990s and early 2000s, highlighting a long period during which the crimes went unnoticed or unaddressed.
Following the report, the Staffordshire Police’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences team launched a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.
The case was brought before Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, where the 55-year-old defendant was found guilty of all 19 charges on Wednesday, October 16.
As part of his sentence, Hearson has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities to protect the community.
Additionally, he has been issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes strict conditions aimed at preventing any further offenses and ensuring public safety in Staffordshire.
