Trowbridge Sexual Abuser
A man from Trowbridge, aged 32, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after breaching court orders related to his criminal conduct. The individual, identified as Dean Culverhouse, was found guilty of secretly filming women and children in showers and toilet facilities over a period spanning from 2009 to 2014. His actions involved invasive voyeurism, which caused significant distress to his victims.

In addition to his criminal activities, Culverhouse had previously made false claims about his military service. He falsely asserted that he had served in Iraq and Northern Ireland, claiming to suffer from PTSD as a result of his supposed service. These claims were later proven to be untrue when police investigations revealed that Culverhouse had fabricated his military history.

Despite admitting to the voyeurism charges, Culverhouse was initially sentenced to a community-based punishment, which typically involves supervision and restrictions rather than immediate imprisonment. However, the court took a stern view of his breach of trust and the seriousness of his misconduct, leading to the 12-month custodial sentence. The court emphasized the gravity of his actions, particularly given the betrayal of trust involved in his voyeuristic offenses and the deception surrounding his military service claims.
