A former educator with ties to Forres Academy has been officially registered as a sex offender for a period of three years following her conviction related to the transmission of explicit messages concerning child sexual abuse. The individual in question, Dayna Dickson Boath, who later held the position of acting principal teacher of guidance at Elgin High School, faced disciplinary action from Moray Council during the ongoing police investigation and ultimately resigned from her post.

Boath appeared before Elgin Sheriff Court to face charges and was found guilty of sending messages that were offensive, indecent, obscene, or menacing, all with a sexual undertone. The court proceedings revealed the serious nature of her actions, which involved the transmission of graphic and inappropriate content.

Following her conviction, the sheriff imposed a community payback order, which includes a supervision period of three years. Additionally, Boath was placed on the sex offenders’ register for the entire duration of this supervision order, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions related to her offense.
