DAVIS KIGOZI JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN LONDON
In a disturbing case that has shocked the London community, Davis Kigozi, a 25-year-old man, has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing two young girls.The incidents took place in different parts of London, highlighting a pattern of predatory behavior that authorities fear may extend to other victims who have yet to come forward.
According to reports, the first assault occurred in May 2017 at a residence in Charlton, located in southeast London.
The victim, a 13-year-old girl at the time, was subjected to sexual abuse by Kigozi while she was at her home.
The girl managed to escape from her attacker and sought refuge in a separate room, demonstrating remarkable resilience in the face of danger.
During the attack, Kigozi threatened to take his own life if she disclosed what had happened, a tactic often used by predators to silence their victims, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Nearly a year later, Kigozi was involved in another relationship when he targeted a second young girl, this time in Colindale, situated in north London.
The second victim was also 13 years old.
Police reports indicate that Kigozi had been drinking at the girl’s home when he entered her bedroom and committed a sexual assault.
The situation was interrupted when the girl’s mother unexpectedly entered the room, disturbing Kigozi during the assault.
Despite his attempt to shift blame onto another family member, law enforcement was called, leading to his arrest.
Kigozi, who does not have a fixed address, faced multiple charges, including four counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of sexual activity with a child by penetration.
His conviction was secured after a thorough investigation and trial, culminating in his sentencing on a Friday.
The court sentenced him to seven years in prison, and he will also be required to register as a sex offender and adhere to a sexual harm prevention order, measures designed to protect the community and prevent further offenses.
This case underscores the importance of vigilance and swift action by authorities in addressing sexual crimes against minors.
