DAVID WHITE FROM STOCKTON CAUGHT IN POLICE STING TRYING TO MEET 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL FOR SEX
In May 2019, a disturbing case unfolded involving David White, a resident of Stockton, who became the subject of a police operation after attempting to engage in a sexual encounter with a girl he believed was only 12 years old.The incident highlights the dangers of online predators and the efforts law enforcement agencies undertake to protect minors from exploitation.
White, aged 37, expressed a disturbing desire to meet the fictitious girl at a local Burger King, with intentions that included getting her pregnant, traveling to her hometown, and having sexual relations with her in a park.
His communications revealed a troubling obsession, as he asked the girl for explicit photographs, sought her home address, and instructed her to delete their messages to prevent her mother from discovering their conversations.
The girl, who White claimed to love and referred to as a 'sexy lady,' was actually an undercover police officer operating as a decoy.
The interactions took place over a week, from June 7 to June 14 of the previous year, through a messaging application.
Prosecutor Paul Cleasby described the exchanges as rapidly becoming highly sexualized, with White sending explicit images of himself, including photographs of his face, tattoos, and even a video of himself performing a sex act.

Cleasby emphasized that the girl was a police officer assigned to monitor online predators, stating, “The child was in fact a police officer tasked to police the internet, effectively.” During the conversations, White was told the girl was only 12, to which he responded with declarations of love and called her a 'sexy lady.' He also inquired about viewing naked pictures of her, indicating a clear interest in underage exploitation.
Following his arrest at his residence on Weardale Place, Grangefield, Stockton, authorities discovered 19 indecent images of children on his phone.
Among these was a particularly disturbing image depicting the rape of a seven-year-old child.
Investigators also found search terms on his mobile device and laptop that suggested an interest in paedophilia, further implicating his intent and predatory behavior.
White admitted to police his involvement in the offenses, confessing to one charge of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and three counts of making indecent photographs of children.
This marked his first conviction related to such crimes.
During the sentencing at Teesside Crown Court, Judge Sean Morris acknowledged the complexity of White’s case, noting that he was a police officer patrolling the internet, which somewhat tempered the severity of the sentence.
Nonetheless, the judge emphasized that White’s culpability remained high.
White was sentenced to 32 months in prison and was issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
Additionally, he will be registered on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to prevent further harm.
