Walker was responsible for cutting the brake line on her Peugeot 307 just days before she planned to take their children to France.

The police discovered that the front brake pipe had been cleanly severed, indicating deliberate damage intended to endanger her life.

Walker initially claimed he was at home on the night of the offense and had not gone out, apart from a supposed trip to the garage.

However, police evidence contradicted his alibi when a road camera captured his vehicle leading to Warwick that night, and his attempt to falsify an alibi with a diary entry stating 'Jock using car' was disproved after contacting the person he claimed was Jock.

Walker pleaded guilty to causing damage recklessly, with the court hearing that Miss Gore suffered nightmares and sleep issues afterward and now tests her brakes before driving her car.

Walker, who had previously been in trouble for harassment, was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for damaging the car and an additional 6 months for perverting the course of justice, plus a restraining order banning contact with Miss Gore for five years.
