A resident of Hawick, David Richardson, aged 52, is set to face sentencing next month after admitting to charges related to assault and stalking involving a former partner. The incident, which took place in October, involved a series of troubling behaviors directed at the woman, including persistent phone calls, unwanted visits to her residence, leaving notes on her vehicle, and verbally abusing her with shouting and swearing.

Richardson, who resides on Overhall Crescent in Hawick, pleaded guilty to the offences during a court hearing. The court heard that his actions caused significant distress to the victim, who was subjected to repeated harassment and intimidation. The case was adjourned to allow for the preparation of background reports, which will inform the sentencing decision.

The sentencing is scheduled for next month, and the court will consider all relevant factors before determining the appropriate penalty for Richardson's conduct.
