DAVID REGAN FROM LONDON CAUGHT IN CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND DRUGS SCANDAL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the London community, David Regan, a 45-year-old family solicitor, is now facing serious criminal charges related to child sexual abuse images and illegal drug possession. The revelations about Regan's activities emerged during a police investigation into a paedophile network, revealing a disturbing pattern of behavior that has led to multiple charges and a potential lengthy prison sentence.
Regan's criminal conduct first came to light when authorities uncovered links between him and a known paedophile gang.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Regan had shown one of the gang members a video depicting a 12-year-old boy being raped by a 15-year-old.
This evidence pointed to a troubling interest in child exploitation, although Regan was not directly involved in the gang's criminal activities.
Instead, his connection was established through his sharing of a child abuse video with a gang member named Adam Toms from Somerset, who was later sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2015 for his role in a group that preyed on young children and infants.
The entire gang was convicted and sentenced to a combined total of 107 years after a trial held in Bristol.
Regan was initially scheduled to face trial at Bristol Crown Court over the incident involving the video.
In January, he admitted to possessing extreme pornography and child abuse images, but the case was not concluded at that time.
Instead, during a subsequent court appearance, he pleaded guilty to ten additional charges, which significantly expanded the scope of his criminal record.
These charges included making and distributing indecent images of children, possessing a large number of such images across various categories, and possessing multiple illegal drugs.
The specific charges against Regan include making an indecent image of a child on January 15, 2016, and distributing an indecent image of a child in December 2016.
He also admitted to possessing 199 images of extreme pornography in January, along with thousands of indecent images of children, including 2,279 Category A images, 957 Category B images, and 722 Category C images, all obtained in January of that year.
Furthermore, Regan was found in possession of three Class A drugs—methyl amphetamine hydrochloride, MDMA, and ketamine—on September 25, 2014.
He was also charged with supplying methyl amphetamine between January 1, 2015, and January 10, 2017.
Judge Mark Horton adjourned the case for a comprehensive probation report before setting a sentencing date.
During the hearing, the judge remarked on the severity of Regan’s situation, stating, “He has disappeared into a very dark and dangerous place, from which it appears only being remanded in custody has he emerged.” Prosecutor Brendon Moorhouse clarified that while Regan was not directly involved with the paedophile gang, his actions and connections indicated a troubling sexual interest in children.
The investigation revealed that Regan had shown a video of a 15-year-old boy raping a 12-year-old to Toms, which underscored the disturbing nature of his interests.
Following the hearing, Ty Surgeon from the National Crime Agency issued a statement emphasizing the gravity of Regan’s offenses.
“David Regan held a position of trust,” he said.
“However, his chaotic lifestyle and links to individuals with a sexual interest in children have led to his downfall.
The images we found in his possession were among the most harrowing.
Every child depicted in these images is a victim who must relive their trauma each time these images are viewed.
We will continue working with law enforcement agencies both nationally and internationally to ensure that those who exploit children are brought to justice.” Regan’s arrest traces back to September 2014, when officers from the National Crime Agency detained him during a broader investigation into child abuse.
Although he was not part of the paedophile gang responsible for the heinous crimes in Bristol, the investigation uncovered his possession of indecent images and illegal drugs.
He was released on bail while further inquiries were conducted.
However, in January of the following year, authorities identified him in a separate investigation, leading to his re-arrest and subsequent charges.
The case continues to develop as authorities seek to determine the full extent of his involvement and to ensure justice is served for the victims involved.
