DAVID POWELL SENTENCED IN ST HELIER FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST 13-YEAR-OLD BOY

St Helier Child Sexual Abuser
In February 2007, David Powell, a 42-year-old former HGV driver for Condor Logistics, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for meeting a 13-year-old schoolboy for sex in public toilets around St Helier. Powell had engaged in sexual activities with the boy, who was often still in his school uniform during their meetings.
The case had been scheduled for sentencing last month, but it was delayed because Powell's co-accused, Paul Romeril, was discovered hanging in his La Moye prison cell just hours before the Royal Court hearing.
Romeril also had a sexual relationship with the same boy. Powell appeared before the Superior Number of the Royal Court yesterday, having previously pleaded guilty to multiple charges: two counts of indecent assault, procuring an act of gross indecency, attempted sodomy, possession of indecent photographs, distributing indecent photographs, and possession of cannabis.
