DAVID PARKER FROM BEESTON SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENCES COMMITTED DECADES AGO IN 2021
In May 2021, David Parker, a resident of Northcote Green in Beeston, was brought to justice for sexual offences committed against a young girl and a teenage girl, with the crimes dating back approximately 20 years.Parker, who was 42 at the time, started abusing a girl when she was around eight or nine years old, and his offending continued for about three years. Leeds Crown Court heard that later, more than ten years after the initial abuse, Parker targeted a second victim, a teenage girl.
The second victim reported the abuse in 2018, which led to Parker’s arrest and subsequent charges.
Parker pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, two counts of sexual assault, and causing a girl to engage in sexual activity.
Judge Robin Mairs sentenced him to an extended term of nine years and seven months. The court specified that Parker must serve eight years and seven months in custody, with a requirement to serve two-thirds of this sentence. After his custodial period, he will remain under supervision for an additional year on licence.
