PETERBOROUGH MAN SENTENCED FOR HISTORICAL CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT
A Peterborough Paedophile, David Marriott, has been imprisoned for sexually assaulting a teenager over 20 years ago.
In 2003, David Marriott, 63, approached a 14-year-old girl from behind while she was playing on a slot machine in the garage of a residence in Peterborough.
David Marriott unfastened the victim’s bra and inappropriately groped her beneath her garments.
The offence was revealed after the victim disclosed the incident to family members and sought accountability for Marriott.
David Marriott, of Rushton Avenue, Peterborough, denied the offence, claiming the allegation was “untrue” and stated that he “chooses not to speculate on why the allegation has been made”.
However, he was found guilty of committing an indecent assault on a girl under 16 following a trial at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court in June.
David Marriott was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday (22 August).
