INQUEST OPENS INTO SEX OFFENDER WHO DIED AT HMP BURE
A male sex offender in custody at HMP Bure in Scottow has passed away.
David Kenyon Johnson, aged 79, died on June 12 while being held at the Norfolk prison designated for adult male sex offenders.
An inquest was initiated at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, with the preliminary cause of death listed as acute respiratory failure, emphysema, lung cancer, and general frailty.
Johnson was born in Hendon, near London, on May 26, 1947, and his identity was verified by staff at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The case has been postponed and is scheduled for a full hearing on February 16, 2027.
