In a recent development, David Kelsey, a man with ties to both Birmingham and Redditch, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of serious criminal offenses involving a young girl and firearm possession.

Kelsey, who is a professional builder by trade, was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court of multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of a minor. The court heard that the abuse was inflicted upon a girl aged between nine and thirteen years old, with Kelsey committing four counts of indecent assault on the child. Additionally, he was convicted of one count of gross indecency with a child, a charge that underscores the severity of his misconduct.

The court also found Kelsey guilty of causing actual bodily harm to the child's mother, a disturbing aspect of the case that highlights the broader impact of his actions. Beyond the sexual offenses, Kelsey faced charges related to firearm possession, with the court convicting him of two counts of possessing a firearm without a valid certificate.

As a result of these convictions, Kelsey was sentenced to four years in prison. The sentence reflects the gravity of his crimes, which have caused significant harm to the victims involved. Furthermore, Kelsey has been ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities following his release.

It was reported that Kelsey served two years and nine months of his original sentence before being released. Upon release, he was permitted to work as a self-employed builder under the name Dalee Builders in Redditch, raising concerns about his ongoing presence in the community. The case underscores the importance of vigilant law enforcement and community awareness in addressing such serious offenses and protecting vulnerable individuals from harm.
