Spalding Child Sexual Abuser
In July 2017, a man from Spalding, David Kaye, appeared before Lincoln Crown Court and admitted to downloading more than 60,000 indecent images of children. Originally scheduled to face a jury trial, Kaye, aged 43 and residing on Spring Street, changed his plea upon entering the dock. He pleaded guilty to three charges involving a total of 62,166 indecent photographs and videos of children, collected between December 25, 2015, and July 22, 2016.
Errol Ballentyne, representing Kaye, explained that his client’s guilty plea was based on the fact that Kaye was searching for 'teen porn' online and did not intend to view indecent images of children.
Judge Simon Hirst granted bail to Kaye, suspending the sentencing until September 22 to allow for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. Addressing Kaye directly, the judge stated: “Anybody who goes looking for pornography on the internet knowing it is likely that images of young children will be downloaded is looking at an immediate custodial sentence.”
