OFFENDER ADMITS RAPE IN NEWCASTLE BACK LANE INCIDENT
A man named David Jordan, aged 21 and of no fixed address, was involved in a sexual assault case reported in the Newcastle area. He admitted to raping a 36-year-old woman he met at a pub in Wallsend. According to court reports, Jordan offered to walk her home after they met at a bar. Instead of escorting her safely, he took her into a back alley near the Queen's Head pub where he committed the rape. The police launched an investigation shortly afterward, and Jordan was arrested within 48 hours of the incident. Initially charged with attempted rape, Jordan pleaded guilty to the charge of rape in Newcastle Crown Court. During proceedings, he appeared supported by his girlfriend and a family member. The judge, Brian Forster, adjourned the case for psychiatric reports to be prepared prior to sentencing. Notably, the court heard that Jordan has a young daughter with health issues, and he had behaved well while staying at a hostel since being charged. Consequently, the judge decided to release him on bail with conditions, which included staying out of North Tyneside, not contacting any witnesses, and warnings that he faces potential jail time. The case is scheduled for sentencing at a later date.
