DAVID JENNER CAUGHT WITH OVER 1,170 INDECENT IMAGES IN GRIMSBY
In a case that has shocked the community of Grimsby, police uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images on the computer of David Jenner, a 48-year-old resident of Albatross Drive. The investigation was initiated after authorities received a tip-off, prompting a thorough search of Jenner’s personal computer.
During the search, law enforcement officials discovered a staggering total of over 1,170 images depicting young girls in various states of undress, many of which were classified as indecent.
In addition to these, there were 38 images identified as extreme pornography, some involving animals, which further compounded the severity of the case.
Prosecutor Nick Adlington addressed the court, revealing the details of the case and emphasizing the gravity of the findings.
Jenner was charged and subsequently admitted to possessing these indecent photographs of children, as well as possessing extreme pornography, on February 11.
His cooperation was noted during the proceedings.
Defense attorney Craig Lowe acknowledged Jenner’s full and frank admissions, highlighting that his client was experiencing a particularly difficult period in his life at the time of the offenses.
Jenner reportedly made the admissions while he was “at a low ebb,” and expressed feelings of disgust and shame about his actions to the police.
Judge David Tremberg, presiding over the case at Grimsby Crown Court, provided context for Jenner’s behavior, explaining that the defendant had been suffering from significant personal and emotional turmoil.
The judge noted that Jenner’s wife had recently left him, leading to feelings of isolation and despair.
These emotional struggles contributed to his inability to cope effectively, resulting in him losing his job.
Although Jenner later found new employment, the damage had already been done.
Judge Tremberg underscored the importance of the law in protecting children from sexual exploitation.
He stated that individuals like Jenner, who possess and distribute indecent images, contribute to a cycle that increases the risk of further exploitation and abuse.
As part of his sentencing, Jenner was subjected to a three-year supervision order, which includes mandatory participation in a sex offender treatment program.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of five years.
To further restrict his access to the internet, Jenner was issued a five-year sexual offences prevention order, which prohibits him from using the internet unless his browsing history is monitored and accessible to police authorities.
