Cockshutt Sexual Abuser
David Humphrie, a 64-year-old resident of Kenwick Close in Cockshutt near Ellesmere, admitted to attempting to communicate in a sexual manner with a decoy believing it was a child. The attempts took place between March 19 and 24 at his address. He appeared before Telford Magistrates' Court last week, where he pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child for sexual gratification. Humphrie was informed that his case would be adjourned until August 20 to allow for the preparation of pre-sentence reports. As part of the proceedings, he was instructed to immediately register with the police as a sex offender, owing to his guilty plea.
