DUDLEY MAN JAILED FOR ABUSE AND VIOLENCE AGAINST PARTNER
A man named David Harrison, aged 52, was convicted of violently assaulting his partner, Lynn Hart, in their flat in Lower Gornal, Dudley. The attack involved Harrison repeatedly punching Lynn in the face and using a sound bar as a weapon to hit her.
Following the assault, which left her with serious injuries including bruised and swollen face and loss of vision, Harrison attempted to cover up the incident by falsely claiming Lynn had fallen down stairs.
However, he later admitted to the charges of wounding.
The court sentenced him to seven years in prison.
Lynn, aged 53, shared her ordeal to raise awareness about domestic violence and emphasized that despite her love for Harrison, she recognized that her life was in danger and decided to seek help.
She recounted that Harrison’s violence escalated over time from verbal abuse to physical attacks, and she now advocates for victims to speak out and seek support from groups like Women’s Aid and the police.
Police and support services have stated that they aim to protect vulnerable individuals and address the causes of such abuse with intervention programs.
