ROCHESTER PAEDOPHILE DAVID GLANCEY SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE FILMING AND INDECENT IMAGES
On July 6th, 2010, a disturbing case involving a Rochester resident, David Glancey, came to light as he was sentenced in connection with serious child exploitation offences.Glancey, aged 29 and residing on Maidstone Road in Rochester, was brought before Maidstone Crown Court where he faced the consequences of his actions.
The court heard that Glancey had engaged in reprehensible activities between January and March of the same year.
He admitted to facilitating the commission of a child sex offence, which involved commissioning the filming of child abuse, a deeply troubling aspect of his criminal conduct.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to possessing nine indecent images of children, which ranged in severity from level 1 to the most serious, level 5.
The police found that he was in possession of a total of 279 images, highlighting the extent of his involvement in the distribution and possession of illicit material.
Further investigations revealed that while Glancey was on bail, he continued to access the internet, flagrantly breaching the conditions set by the court.
During this period, he also attempted to arrange payment for sex with a girl estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old.
This reckless behavior led to his rearrest and subsequent charging in March.
Detective Constable Mikaela Stevens commented on the case, stating, “Glancey tried his best to avoid the consequences of his actions.
These offences, together with his previous criminal history, demonstrate that Glancey poses a significant and ongoing risk to children.
I am glad that the Judge has acknowledged this in the sentence.” It was also disclosed that Glancey had previously been ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
However, at the time of the recent offences, he was not subject to any active court orders.
His criminal record includes a conviction for inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency and indecent assault, further underscoring his history of predatory behavior.
In sentencing, Glancey received an indeterminate term of 25 months in prison, reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the ongoing threat he poses to the safety of children in Rochester and beyond.
