DAVID FLETCHER AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENSES IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE
David Fletcher, a resident of Conygar Road in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, has been formally charged with multiple serious offenses related to child sexual exploitation and indecency.Fletcher appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court yesterday, Thursday, where he pleaded guilty to five counts of engaging in sexual communication with a minor and three counts of producing indecent images of a child.
The case against Fletcher was initiated after Gloucestershire police received credible information indicating that he had been engaging in inappropriate and sexual conversations with a young girl.
The victim, a 12-year-old girl, had explicitly informed Fletcher multiple times that she was only 12 years old.
Despite this, Fletcher, who was 61 years old at the time, continued the conversation, revealing his age and engaging in a sexually explicit exchange over a period of approximately two months.
During this period, Fletcher sent the girl explicit images of his genitalia, as well as videos of himself masturbating.
He also shared photographs of himself in his local area, further indicating a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.
The prosecutor, Sue Gethin, outlined that Fletcher's actions included attempts to initiate sexual communication with the young girl, encouraging her to engage in sexual activities.
Fletcher admitted that between January 7, 2021, and March 13, 2021, in Tetbury, he deliberately sought to communicate with the 12-year-old girl in a sexual manner.
His communications included sending videos of himself masturbating and urging her to participate in sexual acts.
The court was also informed that Fletcher had previously sent a sexually explicit image to a 13-year-old girl on November 12, 2020.
Additionally, on April 17, 2021, he engaged in conversations with another 13-year-old girl about sexual acts and sent her a similar explicit image.
Further disturbing details emerged when Fletcher admitted to communicating with a 10-year-old girl on April 21, 2021.
During this interaction, he expressed a desire to engage in sexual activity with both a 10-year-old and an 11-year-old simultaneously.
On the same day, he also communicated with a 15-year-old girl in a sexual manner, sending her a picture of male genitalia.
In addition to these communications, Fletcher confessed to creating and possessing indecent images of children.
The police found a total of 533 images, categorized as 310 at the most severe level (Category A), 177 at Category B, and 46 at Category C, collected over a period from December 31, 2019, to April 17, 2021.
The case has been transferred to Gloucester Crown Court, where Fletcher is scheduled to be sentenced on January 27.
Until then, he has been placed on the sex offenders register and released on unconditional bail, pending the final judgment.
The authorities have emphasized the severity of these offenses and the importance of holding Fletcher accountable for his actions in Gloucestershire.
