BUSBY MAN JAILED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ASSAULT ON MOTHER IN HOME INVASION
A mum named Sarah Glen, 39, has shared her traumatic experience of being viciously attacked by her best friend's husband, David Devine, 44, at his home in Busby, East Renfrewshire, in December 2022.The assault occurred while Devine's wife was upstairs checking on their children, who were sleeping, leaving Sarah vulnerable.
Devine pounced on her and raped her, with the assault only ending when Devine was pulled off by his horrified wife.
Sarah described the attack as one that has profoundly affected her life, stating, "There are no words to describe what this monster has put me through." She has bravely waived her right to anonymity to encourage other victims to speak out about sexual violence.
Devine was convicted of raping and sexually assaulting Sarah at the High Court in Edinburgh.
As a result, he was sentenced to six years in prison, was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely, and handed a non-harassment order.
Sarah expressed her suffering, stating, "It has ruined my life and had a massive impact on my mental health.
There was no way I could exist in the same place as him, I never want to see his face again.
I'm slowly rebuilding my life, but at one point, I was rock bottom." She also highlighted the importance of reporting such crimes, saying, "If I didn't speak up, I could have allowed him to prey on someone else."
