GLASGOW TEACHER AVOIDS JAIL FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR
A secondary school teacher who groomed a pupil and engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with two other girls in his class has avoided imprisonment.David Davidson, 49, predated on his victims at a school located in the northern part of Glasgow from August 2008 to April 2023.
One teenage girl testified in court that she skipped lessons to be alone with Davidson in his classroom.
She revealed she fell in love with him and that he reciprocated by telling her he loved her.
Davidson reportedly told her he would take her to his house and out for dinner once she was of legal age to leave school.
It was also found that Davidson stroked her face and called her “pretty.” The father of three made inappropriate sexual comments publicly in front of other pupils.
Davidson, who resides in Milngavie, was found guilty of two charges of engaging in sexual activity with a pupil and was also convicted of two further charges of disorderly conduct at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He was sentenced by Sheriff Michael Hanlon to perform 200 hours of unpaid work, be under supervision for two years, and was registered on the sex offenders register for two years.
During court proceedings, Davidson expressed remorse, stating he had “suspicions” that one of the girls liked him and admitted to being “deeply ashamed” for not reporting the incidents to school authorities.
He said, “I am deeply sorry it ended up this way – I was definitely swayed.
I should have reported it, and I didn’t.
Seeing the [19-year-old] girl give evidence was horrifying.
Each time she messaged me and I didn't reply, she would appear sheepish, embarrassed, and apologetic for sending messages and for trying to tell anyone.”
