DAVID CONRAD SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON IN BRIGHTON FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT AT SHOREHAM AIR SHOW
A man from West Sussex has been sentenced to seven years in prison after sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl at the Shoreham Air Show over 18 years ago.
David Conrad, 57, of Pepper Lane, Ashurst, received his sentence at Brighton Crown Court on November 18 following his conviction for indecent assault on the young girl while they attended the event as spectators in August 2003.
In addition to his prison term, Conrad will spend an extra year on extended license upon release and will be registered as a sex offender indefinitely.
Sussex police investigator Amber Evans stated, “The girl was at the show with her family and Conrad, who also knew her, was sitting with her in the crowd when he attacked her, without anyone else noticing.” She explained, “She did not report the attack to anyone at the time and only 14 years later did she feel able to talk to the police about it.” Evans added, “We were still able to investigate and seek justice, and to give her access to sources of specialist advice and support.”
