July 2018 David Byrne jailed for indecent assault crimes A 55-year-old man has been jailed for six years after being convicted of indecently assaulting children. David Byrne, of The Hill in Langport but formerly from the West Hendford area of Yeovil, was sentenced at Taunton Crown Court on Thursday (July 26) after being convicted of four counts of indecent assault on males under the age of 16. The offences relate to three victims and the offending occurred in the Yeovil area between the late 1970s and the late 1990s. In addition to the prison sentence, he will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely and was given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order with specified conditions.
