HAMILTON MAN SPARED JAIL AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT CONVICTION
David Buchanan Murray, residing on Hillhead Crescent, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman inside a residence in Hamilton.
He stripped her of her clothing, engaged in sexual assault, and recorded her while she was unable to consent or refuse.
After he denied the charges and presented a special defence asserting consent, the jury reached a majority verdict of guilt.
He was sentenced to 18 months of supervision, required to complete 250 hours of unpaid community service within six months, and was registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period of 18 months.
