DAVEY WOODRUFF OF DEVIZES CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND BESTIALITY VIDEOS IN SHOCKING CASE

In a disturbing series of events that have shocked the community of Devizes, 26-year-old Davey Woodruff has been linked to the possession of highly illegal and disturbing material involving children and bestiality. The case, which has garnered significant attention, was heard at Swindon Magistrates’ Court, revealing the extent of Woodruff’s alleged involvement in possessing and attempting to justify the distribution of vile images and videos.

According to court records, Woodruff did not deny owning the 39 indecent images of children, nor the six videos depicting bestiality, including a shocking video of a chicken being raped. His defense claimed that these materials had been posted within a WhatsApp chat group of which he was a member, and that they had been automatically saved to his Samsung Galaxy S8 mobile phone. This assertion was part of his attempt to explain how such illegal content appeared on his device.

It was also revealed that Woodruff had a prior conviction in 2017, when a judge in Winchester spared him from immediate imprisonment after he admitted to possessing a large collection of over 300 child abuse images and videos, with 15 classified as the most serious category. At that time, he received a suspended sentence of eight months and was subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricted him from owning internet-enabled devices without police knowledge.

On March 12 of this year, police officers conducted a surprise raid on Woodruff’s flat in Devizes. The court heard that during the visit, Woodruff appeared visibly shocked and panicked, asking to use the bathroom before closing the door on officers. After a few minutes, he re-emerged and allowed the officers entry into his home. During the search, he claimed to have sold all electronic devices capable of internet access, including a Samsung mobile phone and an Xbox console. However, he admitted to having received a PlayStation 4 as a Christmas gift but insisted he did not use it to access the internet.

Further investigation revealed inconsistencies in his statements. Police officers noticed a BT Wi-Fi router in his flat, and by tethering to the wireless internet using a police laptop, they discovered that his Samsung Galaxy S8 was still connected to the Wi-Fi network, despite his claims of having sold the device. When questioned about this, Woodruff responded, “It shouldn’t be,” indicating some awareness of the device’s continued activity.

In a subsequent search of his bedroom, Woodruff retrieved the phone from beneath his pillow. Cyber detectives examined the device and uncovered five indecent images of children in category B and 34 in category C, including a disturbing image of a 12-year-old girl being molested by an older man. Additionally, six videos depicting bestiality were found, one of which involved a chicken being raped.

On June 26, police returned to Woodruff’s residence, and he handed over an iPhone 5. It was noted that he had failed to notify authorities within three days of acquiring the device, breaching the terms of his existing sexual harm prevention order. Subsequently, he appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court via video link from Melksham police station, where he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of breaching his sexual harm prevention order, two counts of making indecent images, and possession of extreme pornography. The court remanded him into custody, with sentencing scheduled for July 31 at Salisbury Crown Court.

Earlier, in August 2017, Woodruff, then aged 24 and residing in Tidworth, was caught with a collection of child abuse videos and images. He was found with 11 images and four videos of the most severe “category A” abuse, along with 22 images in category B and 267 in category C. Judge Susan Evan sentenced him to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, emphasizing the seriousness of his crimes and the suffering inflicted upon the victims. She also ordered him to complete 35 rehabilitation days and participate in a sex offender treatment program, warning that any breach would result in the activation of his prison sentence.

Throughout these proceedings, Woodruff’s actions have raised significant concern within the community of Devizes, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance and enforcement against such heinous crimes.
