MAN JAILED FOR 17 YEARS FOR RAPING GIRL
A man has received a 17-year prison sentence after being convicted of raping a young girl.Daryl Shakespeare, who resides in Tuffley, Gloucester, was handed down the sentence on Friday following his conviction on multiple charges.
These charges included three counts of raping a girl under the age of 13, engaging in sexual activity with a child under 13, indecent assault, inciting sexual activity, and a communication offence.
The jury reached a verdict on April 20, finding the 48-year-old guilty of the specified offences.
However, he was acquitted of one charge of raping a child and one count of assaulting a child by penetration.
At Gloucester Crown Court, Shakespeare was also imposed with a 20-year sexual harm prevention order.
Additionally, he will be on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
