August 2015 Businessman spared prison for possession of indecent images of children A 48-year-old Suffolk businessman who downloaded indecent images of children has been given a suspended prison sentence Police officers acting on a tip-off went to Darren Williams’ home in Front Street in Mendlesham with a search warrant and seized his laptop Police found indecent images of children on the laptop covering all levels of severity Nine extreme & illegal pornographic movies were also found on a disc Williams admitted one offence of making indecent images of children and one offence of possessing extreme pornographic images In addition to the suspended sentence, Williams was fined £4000 and ordered to pay £500 costs The court heard Williams who for years has been part of the local youth football team set up, had downloaded the images after visiting a peer-to-peer website network. Williams was told that he would have to sign the sex offenders register for a period of seven years
