APPEAL COURT URGED TO REVIEW SEX-ABUSE CONVICTION OF DARREN TURK
Judges in the appellate court have been called upon to overturn the conviction for sex abuse of Darren Turk, aged 54, who took his own life while on trial for 16 charges related to boys at Frewen College in Northiam, East Sussex, during the years 1996 to 2002.He was convicted of 10 of these charges.
The case was initiated by his mother, Jasmine Botting, who continues to assert his innocence.
The appeal focuses on whether the guilty verdicts are valid following his death, with the court currently holding off on making a decision.
Turk served as a member of the care staff and later as the head of care at the school, but he was not employed as a teacher.
