Willington Child Sexual Abuser
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of Willington, police uncovered a collection of highly distressing images and videos on a mobile device belonging to Darren Moses. The investigation began when authorities visited Moses's residence in Willington on February 22, 2018, and seized his phone as part of their inquiry.

Upon thorough examination, law enforcement officials discovered a total of 561 indecent images stored on the device. These images included both static pictures and moving footage, some of which depicted children as young as 18 months old being subjected to abuse. The severity of the material was compounded by the presence of four scenes classified as extreme pornography involving bestiality, which is considered particularly heinous and illegal.

During the court proceedings at Durham Crown Court, prosecutor Paul Newcombe detailed the nature of the content, highlighting a particularly disturbing video showing a masked woman abusing a distressed toddler. The footage was described as deeply unsettling and exemplified the sadistic nature of some of the material found.

Darren Moses, aged 34 and residing on Bainbridge Avenue, admitted to full responsibility for possessing these images. He explained that he was sent a link, which he believed would lead to adult pornography, and acknowledged that he should have deleted the images immediately upon realizing they involved children. Moses, who has no prior criminal record, pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images of children and one count of possessing extreme pornography.

Judge Jonathan Carroll addressed the court, describing some of the images as “truly shocking,” particularly noting acts of extreme sadism depicted in the material. In response to the gravity of the offenses, the judge sentenced Moses to 14 months in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years and was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will remain in effect until further notice.

This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child abuse images and extreme pornography, and highlights the importance of vigilance and swift action in protecting vulnerable victims.
