DARREN CORRIE, TOP ARMY OFFICER FROM PETERBOROUGH, FOUND GUILTY OF CHILD INDECENT IMAGE OFFENSES AT DEEPCUT BARRACKS
In October 2017, a senior Army officer was convicted of possessing a significant number of child indecency images.
Darren Corrie, aged 48, who is Regimental Colonel of the Royal Logistic Corps and was awarded an MBE in 2007, was found guilty of hoarding 698 indecent images of children.
Corrie, a married father of two from Peterborough, downloaded these images between 2014 and 2016 while based at Deepcut Barracks in Surrey.
Among the images, eight were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe type.
Corrie was identified after his internet provider reported suspicious activity to the National Crime Agency.
The court sentenced him to 60 hours of community service and imposed a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
He remains suspended from duty and is on full pay while awaiting a disciplinary hearing.
