DARRAN CORDEN SENTENCED IN COVENTRY FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT AND INDECENT IMAGES
In June 2019, a man from Coventry, Darren Corden, was officially sentenced for serious crimes involving a child. The proceedings took place at Coventry Crown Court, where Corden was found guilty of sexually assaulting a young child and possessing indecent images of children.
The court's decision resulted in a substantial prison sentence, reflecting the gravity of his offenses.
At the age of 36, Corden, who resides in the Aldermans Green area of Coventry, faced charges that included one count of sexual assault against a minor and one count of creating indecent images of children.
These allegations stemmed from incidents that occurred in 2018, a year marked by his criminal activities.
In a court hearing held at Warwick Crown Court in May, Corden entered a guilty plea to the initial charges.
Subsequently, he also admitted to two additional counts related to the production of indecent images, bringing the total number of charges to four.
The court carefully considered the evidence before delivering its verdict.
On Monday, June 3, the judge at Coventry Crown Court announced the sentencing.
Corden was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for the sexual assault charge.
Additionally, he received sentences of 12 months, six months, and three months for the three counts of making indecent images, respectively.
These sentences are to run concurrently, meaning he will serve the longest term of four years and eight months overall.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities in Coventry to address and penalize crimes involving minors and the production of illegal images.
Corden's conviction underscores the serious consequences faced by individuals who commit such offenses, and the case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse.
