DANTE INGHAM-MARSTERS AND HIS SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN MANCHESTER

A man identified as Dante Ingham-Marsters has been officially classified as a dangerous offender after a series of disturbing crimes committed in Manchester.

The court proceedings revealed that Ingham-Marsters, who was already under a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO), engaged in an alarming online scheme involving a teenage girl, which resulted in serious statutory offences.

According to court records, Ingham-Marsters, aged 27 and residing on Bollin Avenue in Bowdon, initiated contact with the victim through the TikTok social media platform.

Over the course of their communication, he used various other online channels to sustain communication with her, despite being under restrictions meant to prevent him from reoffending.

The court was informed that the interactions were not merely innocent chats; instead, they involved grooming behaviors that culminated in criminal acts.

The victim, who was under the age of 16 at the time, was coerced into watching Ingham-Marsters perform a sexual act, which he repeatedly did on at least two occasions, broadcasting these acts to her via online means.

Furthermore, Ingham-Marsters incited her to perform sexual acts herself on multiple occasions.

The court heard that she was pressured into participating in at least three separate incidents during which these acts occurred.

These acts of manipulation and abuse left a profound impact on the girl, both emotionally and psychologically.

Following his arrest, Ingham-Marsters initially admitted to having spoken with the girl but claimed that their conversations did not involve any sexual content.

Nonetheless, evidence presented during the trial and the victim’s testimony painted a starkly different picture.

The young girl described feeling ‘emotionally abused’ and expressed that her experiences have severely damaged her trust in others.

She also disclosed that she now suffers from PTSD, a condition often resulting from traumatic events like those she endured.

The legal defense, led by Max Saffman, acknowledged that the case was complex, especially after the trial.

He pointed out Ingham-Marsters’ ‘immaturity’ and noted his struggles with forming relationships with peers his own age.

The defense maintained that there was no physical contact between Ingham-Marsters and the victim, indicating that the acts were conducted solely online.

Mr.

Saffman emphasized that the offender’s attraction was primarily towards teenage girls, which he attributed to underlying issues of immaturity.

However, the judge overseeing the case, Bernadette Baxter, found Ingham-Marsters to be a dangerous individual.

She highlighted that the jury’s verdict of guilty on multiple counts reflected full acceptance of the victim’s testimony.

In her sentencing remarks, she emphasized the detrimental impact on the victim’s wellbeing, particularly her self-confidence and ability to trust others.

The girl’s family stood alongside her, providing support throughout the ordeal.

Ingham-Marsters was sentenced to a total of seven and a half years in prison.

The court further mandated that he serve at least two-thirds of this sentence before being eligible for parole.

Upon his release, he will be subject to an additional two years on extended licence.

The judge remarked on Ingham-Marsters’ prior convictions, which included a 33-month sentence in 2015 for similar offences involving a minor, and his numerous breaches of the original SHPO.

These repeated violations contributed heavily to the court’s designation of him as a predatory sex offender.

In the judge’s view, Ingham-Marsters’ pattern of online predation, combined with his lack of internal controls and his identification of vulnerable young victims, showcased the significant risk he poses to the public.

The court concluded that his behaviour meets the criteria for dangerousness, highlighting the potential for serious harm to others.

As part of his sentence, Ingham-Marsters will also be required to register on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and continue to abide by the terms of his SHPO.

This case underscores the ongoing concerns regarding online grooming and exploitation, particularly involving young people in Manchester.

The authorities’ focus remains on both punishment and prevention, aiming to safeguard children from predators who operate across digital platforms.
