STALKER WHO TURNED UP AT BEAUTY INFLUENCER'S WORKPLACE WITH TWO KNIVES AND LEFT SECOND VICTIM PERMANENTLY SCARRED IS JAILED
A woman who stalked a prominent beauty influencer, leaving her feeling 'terrified for her life' and inflicted permanent scarring on another victim after hurling a brick through her window, was sentenced to four and a half years imprisonment today.Danielle Moore, aged 34, targeted Priyanka Gnanasekaran by visiting her workplace with two knives and engaging in threatening phone calls that included racist insults from July to December of last year.
According to prosecutor Bartholemew O'Toole, Moore started by sending private messages to Ms Gnanasekaran's public social media account after following her for several years, the court heard.
As these communications became increasingly odd and unsettling, Ms Gnanasekaran opted to block Moore.
Not deterred, Moore created multiple new profiles to reconnect, jurors were told.
One message from Moore stated: 'I'll be talking to Allah about what you've done.
You've done wrong.' Ms Gnanasekaran responded, expressing confusion and asking her to stop.
The new immigrant to the UK from Canada last year warned Moore she would contact police if her harassment continued.
Another victim, Fatema Begum, reported feeling 'petrified' after Moore attacked her with a brick, which caused a facial scar.
Throughout a six-month span, Moore tracked Ms Gnanasekaran's place of work in central London and appeared twice in July last year, seeking her out.
Recognizing her, Ms Gnanasekaran prompted security to deny Moore entry.
During court proceedings, an audio clip was played where Moore politely asks the receptionist for a meeting with Ms Gnanasekaran before losing composure and insulting her.
Moore was heard declaring: 'P*** I’m coming, I’m f****** coming.' CCTV footage from the same day showed her armed with two knives attempting to access the basement of the building.
Law enforcement intervened, leading to her arrest.
Even after incarceration at HMP Bronzefield, Moore attempted to contact Ms Gnanasekaran, claiming she was calling her legal representative.
She also made four phone calls on August 4, 2022, and contacted her at work under a false name, 'Sandra Diente,' last December.
Ms Gnanasekaran, in her victim impact statement, revealed she felt terrified for her life, believing Moore's rage had intensified since her arrest.
She described experiencing intense paranoia amid her stalking ordeal.
Moore, from Bermondsey, denied the charges but was convicted of stalking.
In another incident, Moore admitted to hurling two bricks at a vehicle's window belonging to Fatema Begum in Ipswich on May 12, 2021.
One brick struck Ms Begum's face, causing a 2cm cut above her left eye and resulting in a lifelong scar.
She pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and property damage.
Judge Gregory Perrins sentenced Moore to four and a half years behind bars, plus an extended licence of two and a half years.
She received two restraining orders that bar her from contacting Ms Begum and Ms Gnanasekaran for ten years.
In her statement, Ms Begum described her terror after the attack, noting that she became housebound and depended on friends and family for support.
She expressed fear that Moore knew her residence and might return to inflict more harm.
Her facial scar, visible above her eyebrow, necessitates a skin graft, which she cannot get through the NHS.
The attack has left her permanently scarred and deeply distressed.
