HIGHLAND MAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT THAT TOOK PLACE 11 YEARS AGO
A man has received a conviction for a sexual assault that happened over a decade ago.At the time of the incident, Daniel Tucker was 20 years old, and the assault involved touching a 15-year-old girl’s inner thighs at a location near Loch Ness.
Currently 31, Tucker also placed his hand on her back and attempted to unfasten her bra on January 28, 2015.
The Inverness Sheriff Court was told that the girl had been socializing with friends when she noticed Tucker and one of his friends.
During a 'game' where they were supposed to be stroking each other's knees, Tucker began to do similar towards her.
She asked him to stop, but he ignored her and proceeded to touch her inner thighs.
He then tried to undo her bra, but she moved away.
Afterward, her mother was informed, and she questioned Tucker, who responded, 'I don’t touch little girls,’ before walking away.
Tucker, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to sexual assault.
Sheriff Aitken sentenced him to 140 hours of unpaid community service within a year and ordered him to register as a sex offender for the same period.
His defense lawyer, Willie Young, commented that "the offense happened 11 years ago and he was obviously much more immature.
He accepts responsibility for his actions."
