Twisted offender Daniel McColl caused horrifying injuries to a young baby through a series of shocking assaults. The 21-year-old caused a fractured thigh bone and multiple rib fractures to the helpless child. McColl was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm at Newcastle Crown Court. In sentencing, Judge Richard Lowden remarked, "You cannot get a more vulnerable victim than a baby." The baby's injuries were discovered when a nappy was being changed at their Northumberland home. Medical examinations revealed a spiral fracture to the baby's left thigh, along with rib fractures. McColl, of Carr Hill Road, Gateshead, admitted responsibility during police interrogation.
