DANIEL LLOYD OF CEFN CRIBWR TARGETS 13-YEAR-OLD LONDON GIRL USING FACEBOOK
In a case that has shocked the local community of Cefn Cribwr and highlights the dangers of online predators, Daniel Lloyd, a 21-year-old resident of West Avenue, Cefn Cribwr, faced serious allegations at Cardiff Crown Court. Lloyd was found guilty of multiple charges related to the exploitation of a young girl from London, who was only 13 years old at the time of the incidents.According to court records, Lloyd admitted to a total of 11 charges involving the creation and distribution of indecent photographs of a child. In addition, he pleaded guilty to possessing further indecent images and inciting the young girl to engage in sexual activities. The case revealed that Lloyd had initiated contact with the girl through Facebook, exploiting her vulnerability and low self-esteem.
During the proceedings, Recorder Paul Lewis, QC, described Lloyd as a “manipulative and predatory” individual. The judge emphasized that a pre-sentence report indicated Lloyd posed a significant risk of causing serious harm to children. “I regard his behaviour as highly manipulative and predatory,” the judge stated, underscoring the dangerous nature of Lloyd’s actions.
The court heard that Lloyd was aware of the girl’s fragile emotional state, noting that she was a carer for her mother and had low self-esteem. Lloyd’s conduct included threats and coercive acts that were of a gross and disturbing nature. The judge highlighted the profound emotional damage inflicted upon the young girl, describing her as having suffered serious emotional trauma as a result of Lloyd’s campaign of exploitation.
It was also revealed that Lloyd’s actions were calculated, targeting a vulnerable individual with the intent to manipulate and harm her. The court considered whether Lloyd should be classified as a dangerous offender, given the severity and predatory nature of his conduct.
As part of the legal process, Lloyd’s sentencing was temporarily adjourned for six weeks to allow for a psychiatric assessment. The court noted that Lloyd appeared to have limited intelligence, which may have influenced his actions. Despite the seriousness of the charges, Lloyd was released on conditional bail pending the outcome of the psychiatric report, which will inform the final sentencing decision.
