CAMBRIDGESHIRE ABUSER SENT BACK TO JAIL FOR TARGETING EX AND HER MUM AFTER RELEASE
A violent perpetrator responsible for harassing his ex-girlfriend and her mother shortly after being released from prison has been incarcerated again.Daniel Howey, aged 36, sent a series of abusive messages to the woman, including photographs of himself standing outside her residence.
One of his messages threatened: “I’m going to jail, you’re going to hospital.” He also directed similar messages to her mother and assaulted a friend of hers while attempting to locate her.
Howey was freed at the end of the previous year following convictions for domestic abuse, for which he was subject to a restraining order.
Despite this, in June he re-established contact with his former partner.
From Needingworth Road, St Ives, he admitted to charges of harassment, two violations of the restraining order, and assault by beating.
At Peterborough Crown Court on Friday, he received a sentence of two years and one month in prison.
Detective Constable Lucy Holderness commented: “Howey thought he could make his former partner’s life a misery – he was wrong.
“His actions left her incredibly frightened and no one should ever be made to feel that way.
“I hope he now reflects on his behaviour and his victim can feel some measure of comfort and closure.
I would like to thank her for her bravery and for supporting us in getting the result she deserves."
