DANIEL EXLEY AND HIS SHOCKING RAPE CRIMES IN CHESHIRE
A man from Alderley Edge, identified as Daniel Exley, has been convicted of serious sexual offenses after a trial at Chester Crown Court.The court heard that Exley, residing on Beech Close in Alderley Edge, was found guilty of raping a 26-year-old woman and taking advantage of her during a period marked by her vulnerability.
The incident occurred between June 26 and June 29, 2020, events which have profoundly impacted the victim and have been subject to a thorough criminal investigation.
The verdict was delivered on the previous day, leading to Exley's sentencing on Friday, May 6, by Recorder Simon Killeen.
During the court proceedings, it was established that Exley’s actions were deeply exploitative.
Despite the evidence and his conviction, the defendant maintained his innocence, denying the charges of assault and rape.
Nevertheless, the court's decision was grounded in the evidence presented, which proved his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
The victim has been publicly commended by the lead investigator, Detective Constable Catherine Hudson, for her remarkable bravery in coming forward to testify against Exley.

As part of his punishment, Exley was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, amounting to 90 months.
Additionally, he is mandated to sign the sex offenders register for the rest of his life, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
The court also issued an indefinite restraining order, prohibiting Exley from any form of contact, direct or indirect, with the victim.

Highlighting the seriousness of the case, Detective Constable Hudson stated that Exley's actions marked him as a dangerous predator who took advantage of a vulnerable woman.
