--------------------------- 2021-01-04 00:01: In December 2020, a disturbing case unfolded involving Daniel Coulson, a 34-year-old man from Leicester, who was caught in an undercover operation after attempting to groom what he believed to be underage girls for sexual encounters.
Coulson, who was already a convicted sex offender, appeared before Leicester Crown Court to face charges related to his inappropriate online communications with a minor.
According to court reports, Coulson initiated contact with an online profile he believed belonged to a 13-year-old girl.
The conversation quickly took a sinister turn as Coulson sent sexually explicit messages, revealing his depraved intentions.
Among the disturbing messages, he suggested that the girl and her eight-year-old sister should sit on his lap while he poured custard over them.
He also expressed a desire to see her naked in the bath while using gunge on her.
As the chat continued, Coulson's messages grew even more disturbing, with him explicitly stating that he wanted the girl to molest her younger sister.
It was later revealed that the girl Coulson was communicating with was not real but a decoy created by the 'No More Secrets – Isle of Wight' paedophile hunting team, led by Kath Morin.
The team had set up the decoy to catch predators like Coulson.
Once they gathered sufficient evidence, they handed it over to the police, who promptly arrested Coulson at his Leicester home.
Authorities seized his phone and computer equipment for analysis, uncovering that Coulson had been communicating with a total of five decoys, all of whom were part of the sting operation.
Further investigation revealed that Coulson had a prior conviction from 2009, when he was caught downloading indecent images of children, including videos depicting girls as young as six being sexually abused by adult men.
This history of offending underscored the seriousness of his current actions.
Following his arrest, Coulson was held on remand for four months.
During the court proceedings, the judge sentenced him to 16 months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for 24 months.
Additionally, Coulson was ordered to complete a three-year community order, participate in a 30-day rehabilitation program, and was subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
He was also required to register as a sex offender immediately.
In a related case from February 2009, Coulson, then 22 and living in Reading, was found to have downloaded child sexual abuse images onto a housemate’s laptop while attending the University of Reading.
He admitted to eight charges of making indecent images, which included videos of young girls being sexually abused.
The housemate had discovered the illicit files when she returned home and found “sex documents” on her computer.
An investigation by police recovered eight images, ranging from the least severe to more serious levels of abuse.
During police interviews, Coulson expressed remorse, stating, “I don’t know why I do this.
Please don’t tell my parents.
This is why they took my laptop off me.” He also admitted to paying for access to fetish websites.
Judge Stephen John sentenced Coulson to two-year community orders for each of the charges, to run concurrently, with supervision for two years.
Coulson was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years, banned from owning his own computer, and prohibited from having contact with any child under 16 without another adult present for three years.
Coulson’s address was listed as Glenfield Road, Leicester, and he was ordered to pay £474 in costs.
These cases highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and paedophile hunting teams to combat online child exploitation and bring offenders like Coulson to justice, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and swift action in protecting vulnerable children from predatory behavior.
