Kingston Child Sexual Abuser
In May 2021, Daniel Butterfield, a teacher who instructed children aged 10 to 11, received an indefinite ban from teaching roles following allegations of sending sexual messages and possessing indecent images of children.

Butterfield, 36, of Portland Road, Kingston, engaged in online correspondence between June and August 2018. He believed he was communicating with a girl believed to be 13 years old but was actually talking to a police officer.

During these exchanges, Butterfield sent explicit images of himself and requested indecent images in return. He also made arrangements to meet with the girl.

Police investigations uncovered evidence of 113 indecent images and videos involving young children on his device, some classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of harm.

Butterfield was first charged in October 2019 at Kingston Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to 13 sexual offences and was sentenced to 20 months in prison, suspended for two years. Additionally, he was issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and registered as a sex offender.
