Carlisle Domestic Abuser
A man from Carlisle, Daniel Blair, has been formally sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court following a disturbing series of violent incidents within a domestic setting. Blair, aged 46 and residing in the Whernside area of Carlisle, received a sentence that includes a 30-month community order, an indefinite restraining order, and a requirement to complete 150 hours of unpaid community service. The court's decision comes after Blair was taken into custody and faced multiple charges related to violence and assault. Initially, Blair denied the allegations brought against him; however, he later pleaded guilty in June of this year to the charges.

The incidents in question date back to April 2019, when Blair was involved in a violent altercation with his former partner. During this incident, he pushed her down a flight of stairs and launched a sustained assault, actions that caused her significant distress and physical harm. This assault was witnessed by a child, who was present at the scene. The situation escalated further when Blair assaulted another woman in June 2019 following a disagreement, adding to the pattern of violent behavior.

Detective Kerry Gibson from North Cumbria CID commented on the case, stating, "Blair is a dangerous offender who caused undue suffering to his victims. Domestic abuse is a priority for Cumbria Constabulary and we deal with all reports sensitively and professionally." The police emphasize the importance of supporting victims and encourage anyone suffering from abuse or knowing someone who is to seek help. They provide resources and support options on their official website, urging victims not to suffer in silence and to come forward for assistance.
